SHAWN CROSSMAN FOR MAYOR
Together
For Moncton
Building a stronger city through collaboration, practical leadership, and a shared vision for the future.
Meet Shawn

Shawn Crossman was born and raised in Moncton and has spent his life building businesses, supporting community organizations, and serving the city he proudly calls home.
A graduate of Moncton High School, Shawn has been a self employed entrepreneur since 1999, operating a successful sales and marketing company serving clients across Atlantic Canada.
Through his work, he has built strong relationships throughout the region and gained a firsthand understanding of the challenges facing local businesses and families.
His approach to leadership is grounded in practical experience, collaboration, and a deep commitment to the future of Moncton.
A lifelong
commitment
to Moncton
Shawn has dedicated years to public service and community leadership in Moncton.
He has served on numerous committees focused on improving the city, including the City of Moncton Operations Committee, the Irishtown Nature Park Committee, the Crossman Community Centre and Kay Arena Committee, the Public Safety Advisory Committee, the Moncton Boys and Girls Club Inc., and the Seniors Advisory Committee.
At the national level, Shawn has also represented Moncton through his work with the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, serving on committees focused on community safety, crime prevention, international relations, environmental sustainability, and socio economic development.
He also served on the Southeast Regional Service Commission Finance Committee and was elected First Vice President and then President of the Cities of New Brunswick Association.
A strong
record of
Public Service
Community involvement has always been an important part of Shawn’s life.
He has volunteered as a coach with Lewisville Minor Hockey, supported Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Moncton, and is a member of St. Bernard’s Church. He is an active member of the Greater Moncton Sunrise Rotary Club.
Shawn comes from a family deeply connected to public service. His father, the late Norm Crossman, served as a councillor for Ward 1 and was Canada’s longest serving municipal politician at the time of his passing in 2008.
This legacy of service continues to inspire Shawn’s commitment to Moncton.
Roots firmly
planted in
Community
In 2018, Shawn was diagnosed with multiple myeloma. After undergoing extensive treatment, including chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant, he is now in full remission.
Throughout his journey, Shawn remained focused not only on his own recovery, but on supporting others facing similar challenges.
In 2019, he organized Moncton’s first Myeloma March, which raised more funds than any other march in Canada that year. He later founded the Moncton Myeloma Support Group, creating a network of support for patients and caregivers across the region.
Shawn currently serves as a member of the Patient Advisory Council with Myeloma Canada, where he proudly represents the Atlantic provinces and advocates for patients and families affected by the disease.
In recognition of his leadership and advocacy, Shawn received the Nathalie Allard Memorial Award from Myeloma Canada - twice - an honour given to individuals who demonstrate exceptional commitment to the myeloma community.
Strength through
Adversity
Outside of his work and community involvement, Shawn enjoys spending time outdoors and staying active. Whether it is golfing with friends, or spending time kayaking or biking with family, he values the balance that outdoor recreation brings.
Like many residents of Moncton, Shawn appreciates the parks, green spaces, and natural areas that make the city such a great place to live and raise a family.
He is the proud father of Isabelle and lives in Moncton with his wife Beverly Dawson. Together they remain deeply connected to the community they call home.

Built Here
Looking
Forward
Shawn believes Moncton’s future depends on strong leadership, responsible growth, and united collaboration between residents, businesses, and all levels of government.
His vision is simple.
Listen carefully.
Work together.
Make decisions that strengthen Moncton for generations to come.
Together for Moncton.
There are no surprises with Shawn Crossman. He has all the qualities we want in a mayor. Shawn is honest, upstanding, hard- working and dedicated to the people of Moncton. His track record as a City Councilor and Deputy Mayor demonstrated his leadership ability.
He listens to your concerns, returns phone calls and emails promptly and is committed to his constituents. Over the years my association with Shawn has extended to education, the SPCA (now PAWS) and currently my involvement with the Peter McKee Centre. Shawn has always been supportive and involved with these community organizations.
